our story
In 2014 our founder set up an organisation to offer her expertise in coordinating responses to gender based violence. Although the work generally fell in to three categories (policy, strategy and evaluation) the common theme across all of them were questions of impact;
Policy: What impact do we want to make?
Strategy: What can we do to make that impact?
Evaluation: How will we know we have made that impact?
At the root, all the organisations she worked with wanted to achieve the same impact; social change. Whether directly stated or not, creating social value is the aim of most public and not for profit organisations.
Nowadays a focus on social value isn’t unique to those sectors, even individuals and corporate companies are concerned with making a positive social impact. Research from Bentley University found over 80% of millennials prioritised making a positive difference in the world over gaining professional recognition. Corporate entities are following suit, the worlds largest asset manager BlackRock called on all companies to explain how their businesses make a positive contribution to society beyond just financial performance.
With so many individuals and organisations seeking to make social change, we set up to use our experience in how to effectively do that - and demonstrate it. ~
